Hi, I'm Maya — the founder of PicoBotanica.
I started PicoBotanica for a simple reason: I fell in love with blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea), and I was frustrated by how hard it was to find the real thing. This is a flower people have treasured for over three thousand years — from the temples of ancient Egypt to tea rituals across Southeast Asia. Yet so much of what's sold today doesn't honor that at all. It's blended from anonymous lots, dried too fast and too hot, or — far too often — dyed white water lily passed off as blue lotus. I wanted to build the brand I wished I could have bought from.
Single-origin, never anonymous
Every flower we sell traces back to a small group of family farms in Thailand that I partner with directly and pay fairly. We don't buy from open commodity markets or blend harvests from unknown sources. It's more work and it costs more — but it's the only way I can promise you that the grade, color, and character stay consistent every single time.
Grown and harvested with care
Our blue lotus is grown organically, without synthetic pesticides. Every bloom is hand-picked at peak bloom and slow-dried to protect its color, aroma, and natural compounds — never rushed through high heat that leaves flowers faded and brittle. It's a slower process, and you can see the difference in the flower itself.
Tested, documented, and safe
I don't ask you to just trust the word "pure." Our blue lotus is independently screened by Thailand's Department of Science Service — an accredited government laboratory — and tested for heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and cadmium. It's then packed in an FDA-registered facility with quality control at every step. We show our lab results openly, because that transparency is the whole point of what I'm building.
Real Nymphaea caerulea — verified
Authenticity is a genuine problem in this category; a huge share of "blue lotus" online is actually dyed water lily. Everything we sell is verified Nymphaea caerulea, the true blue lotus — so you always know exactly what you're getting.
My promise to you
I stand behind every pouch with a 30-day return policy and real, human customer care. Whether you're brewing your very first cup or stocking your shelves, my commitment is the same: authentic, single-origin blue lotus, sourced and tested to a standard I'm proud to show you.
Thank you for being here.
